Staircases in healthy Vastu zones should be constructed anticlockwise, and in the harmful zones should be constructed clockwise. 

Keep a spotless and tidy area under the staircase.

Never make a room under the staircase for Pooja. 

Stop even a kitchen under the staircase as far as possible. 

Never build a staircase in the center of the house or Brahmasthan. 

Stop having a staircase at the corners of the house in the North and North East.

Do not put idols and gods under the staircase or hang pictures. Also, stop putting images of Pitra under the staircase. 

Avoid having a dustbin directly under the stairs, as far as possible. 

Holding money and valuables in a locker or cupboard under the staircase is also not advisable. 

The location of mirrors under a staircase should, as far as possible, also be avoided.
